Jase Edwards, a senior at Tecumseh High School, finds his passion and purpose on the basketball court, where he serves as a shooting guard. Active in sports and within his community, Jase is a leader at Tecumseh with a bright future ahead.

“My family motivates me,” Jase asserted, highlighting the pivotal role his father plays as both a motivator and a coach. It’s a dynamic that fuels his drive to excel.

Reflecting on his academic journey, Jase acknowledges Mrs. McKnight, his leadership teacher, for imparting valuable lessons that extend beyond the classroom. Success in basketball, Jase believes, is the result of unwavering commitment, dedication and relentless hard work, principles instilled by his family and coaches.

Among the many milestones in his career, Jase holds scoring his 1000th point in high regard, a testament to his skill and perseverance.

When it comes to rivalries, Jase finds extra motivation facing off against Seminole, a rival from his hometown. “It always feels good to beat a rival from your childhood,” he reflected.

In practice, Jase enjoys the challenge of competing against Kohen Warden: “It’s always a challenge to compete with him in practice and make each other better.”

Apart from basketball, Jase actively participates in Link Crew and Leadership, showcasing his commitment to community and service.

Looking ahead, Jase plans to continue his basketball career in college while pursuing his dream of becoming a nurse—a testament to his dedication to both athletics and academics. “I plan to continue my basketball career in college and also become a nurse.”
