TECUMSEH SAVAGES
Coach: RANDON LOWE
3-7
OFFENSE
It’s the start of a new era at Tecumseh High School with the hire of head coach Randon Lowe, who brings a wealth of experience to the field. Lowe has coached at nearly every level on high school ball and brings experience from the NAIA, D2 and D1 levels. Simply put, coach Lowe said, “It will be an exciting time at Tecumseh.” The coaching staff includes Mike Montano, James Price, Easton Marrs, Josiah Wright, Anthony O’Guinn, Tanner Ricky, John Rodriguez, Jerry Kuhn, and Lance Weckerle. Four starters are back on offense including Jekhi Owens (6-1, 170, St.) who accounted for seven TDs last season from his wide receiver spot in a Wing-T offense. Look for coach Lowe to open things up with Wyatt Dodgion (5-11, 160, Jr.) at quarterback. The air raid style offense will feature Jackson Douglas (5-8, 180, So.) and Cashawn Thompson (6-3, 185, Jr.) joining Owens at WR. The offensive line is anchored by Shane Blankenship (6-2, 265, St.) at center and Ted Belshe (6-4, 240, St.) at tackle.
DEFENSE
Look for a 3-5-3 stack defense that mixes up coverages and puts a lot of pressure on opposing QBs. Ryan Batterton (6-3, 275, Sr.) starts on the defensive line alongside Devin McLeister (6-0, 285, Jr.) giving the Savages a solid combo upfront. Kruz Shirly (5-10, 170, Jr.) and Porter Neil (5-10, 205, So.) are two quick, hard hitting linebackers who play fast and hard. Strong Safety Isaac McAllister (5-10, 195, So.) will roam the secondary and look for opportunities to make plays while Braxton Shelton (6-1, 170, Sr.) will lock up on of the corner spots. Also look for Jax Johnson, Thai Ulm and Cooper Laughlin to have an impact as well.
