Shawnee’s Braylon Lassiter

By Mike Moguin

Ask Shawnee defensive back Braylon Lassiter, and he’ll be short and to the point.

“Cinco,” as he is nicknamed, describes his game style as aggressive.

A line on his Instagram account best illustrates his preparation for the upcoming season: getbizzycinco

Lassiter values the bonds to the men he is akin to. He considers his father “Family is very important,” he said. “My dad is a very strong role model in my life. My dad is a very big part of my life. I love my dad. My uncle also plays a big part of my life,” Lassiter added.

Lassiter, who also plays baseball for the Wolves, said Ms. Bell from his sophomore academic year is his favorite teacher throughout all of school.

The best advice anyone has ever given him is to “stay committed and the results will show.”

He claims his first offer to play college football has been his greatest accomplishment.

Running back Travion Barber is the teammate who has made the biggest impression on Lassiter. “He is my right-hand man,” Lassiter said.

The transfer from Norman North also wants to “show everyone that Shawnee football is a great program, and we are very blessed and thankful.”

Lassiter is a 4.48 40 guy who brings a 6-foot-5 wingspan to his position. The senior is one of the top guys to watch this season and is ranked No. 5 as a dual-threat player. Lassiter has offers from schools such as Oklahoma Baptist, and Southwest Baptist, with more expected to role in this season.
