VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to and why?
Piper: Regan Smith, because she went through a time where it was hard and I also went through a plateau so it was reassuring that even Olympians go through hard times in the sport as well.
VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
Piper: To trust the process and enjoy the little wins each day.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
Piper: Always having someone to talk to and cheering your team on.
VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?
Piper: I love the process and seeing the work pay off in the end and being able to reap the reward.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Piper: Hanna Newby, who was on my Club team, because I always looked up to the older kids when I was younger in hopes to be where they were someday.
VYPE: What has been your favorite memory of playing?
Piper: My favorite part of competing would be racing at the U.S. Open and getting the chance to go against people who I’ve looked up to for all of my years of being in the sport.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
Piper: My Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Merrell, because she was always joyful to be around.
VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
Piper: The best advice anyone has given to me would be to not be so harsh on myself when I become scared of competing and falling out of love with the sport. Having fun in the sport is as crucial as enjoying the little things during practice.
VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.
Piper: I am so grateful for my family, coaches, friends, and mentors who have impacted my career and for their endless love and support.
