21-22 Record: 13-13
The Tecumseh Savages graduated five seniors from their roster but return two starters from last year’s team who led the team in scoring and will be looked upon to set the tone this season. While the Savages won’t have as much depth this year, they will not be lacking in talent and head coach Bryant Edwards expects a solid year of production out of his team and is looking forward to seeing some new players step up and gain experience. Jase Edwards (6-2, Jr.) has good size on the wing and led the Savages in scoring a year ago with 16.0 points per game. As a sophomore he racked up several awards throughout the
year including recognition as The Oklahoman Athlete of the Week, The Oklahoman Little All-City Honorable Mention, The Oklahoman 4A All-State Honorable Mention, and made the North Canadian River All-Conference team. Edwards has been gaining attention from some college programs including Seminole State College, and with a sweet shooting stroke looks to have another big year. With two
more years of solid production expect Edwards to get the opportunity to continue his playing career at the next level. Last year he played the majority of the season with a broken finger and still managed to shoot over 40 percent from the field. Now healthy, expect his numbers to rise even with more attention from opponents. Brady Overstreet (5-9, Sr.) is the other returning starting and brings back his veteran presence and ability to score. Overstreet has been a three-year starter for the Savages and has logged a lot of minutes over the course of his career. Look for him to be a leader on and off the court for Tecumseh. Last season he averaged 12.0 points per game and is expected to have similar success in his final year with the Savages. Jason Baldwin (5-9, So.) is getting a shot on the varsity squad this year
after leading the freshman and junior varsity teams last year in scoring. With the departure of five seniors
Baldwin will be expected to step into the lineup this season and play a big role on both ends of the floor
and coaches expect him to rise to the occasion. Other players to look for include: Marquan Krush (6-3, Jr.),
Keegan Plumley (6-5, Jr.), and Kenny Hatcher (6-2, Sr.).
