Q&A with Meeker’s Ajay Lynch – Presented By Abby’s Bridal and Formal Wear

VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?

Ajay: Because it’s what I love to do more than anything else.

VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to and why?

Ajay: Emmitt Smith because he exemplifies consistency. In every game he played he was the best.

VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing your sport?

Ajay: When I was four years old and because I was so energetic as a little kid that playing football was a way I could get that energy out and learn the lessons and responsibilities that come with being a football player.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

Ajay: My parents because they laid the foundation down for me early and showed me what it takes to work hard.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Ajay: Donnie Wingate. He was a senior when I was a freshman. And our head coach always told us the story of how hard he worked in the weight room and on the field and now he plays at Lindenwood. This left an impression on me because he was someone I saw working every day and I got to see him make it.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Ajay: Every day is an opportunity to get better. Every day God blesses you to wake up and make the most of it.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Ajay: Mrs. Shana Sellers because not only is she a great teacher but she’s also someone who always has time to talk and it doesn’t matter if it’s talking about OU football or giving you advice on a decision you’re about to make.

VYPE: What has been your favorite memory of playing?

Ajay: My favorite memory of playing football was the day I got my first college offer. There’s nothing quite like that day. When you work so hard for something and you finally see it start to unfold in front of you it’s truly amazing.

VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.

Ajay: First, I would like to thank God for giving me the ability to play the sport that I love.

Second, I would like to thank VYPE for giving me the opportunity to be a part of something like this.  And Finally, I would like to thank my family, friends, and coaches for investing time in me and helping me be the best student-athlete I can be.
