Coach: Tim Boyer
21-22 Record: 14-11
Head coach Tim Boyer is very excited about this upcoming season with eight of nine top rotation players coming back for the Redskins including all five starters from a year ago. Leading the way for McLoud is Luke Norwood (6-3, Sr.) a VYPE Top 100 nominee who averaged 18.9 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.3 steals per game last season. “Everything starts with him,” coach Boyer said. “He led our team in
almost every category last year and we are expecting big things from him this season. You know Luke is a good player because he will have a quiet 20 and 7 game.” Twins Jacob (5-10, Sr.) and Luke
Jordan (5-10, Sr.) provide shooting and toughness on the perimeter and when they get hot the Redskins are a tough team to beat. A year ago, the twins both averaged over 10 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and a steal per game and are a dynamic duo in the backcourt. The Jordans both defend well on the wing and can shoot the ball at a high percentage from behind the arc. Tryce Lewis (6-3, Sr.) is a big body
down in the post and uses his size to his advantage when backing down defenders. He’s coming off a season averaging 7.6 points and 7.2 rebounds and is looking to have another productive season on both ends of the floor. Dorrian Matlock (6-2, Jr.), Coby Cardin (6-0, Sr.), Jett Henson (6-2, Sr.), and Bryce Cowns (6-0, So.) round out the rotation and will play big minutes this year. McLoud won their district championship for the second year in a row in 2021-22 and will be looking to make it three in a row this season and hope to take the next step and advance to the area tournament. On offense the Redskins will try to spread the floor and drive to the basket for easy layup opportunities, draw fouls, or kick the ball out to open shooters. On the defensive end they want to play physically and force opponents into tough shots. Also look for Caleb Coleman (6-2, Jr.) and Kameron Nance (6-2, Jr.) to make an impact.
