Dale’s Trayden Chambers – Athlete Spotlight – Presented By BancFirst

A high school’s athletic programs depend on more than just the student body, teachers, and parents to cheer them on. They also look to the community to come out and support their local high school athletes and cheer them on to victory. Trayden Chambers says that the town of Dale does a great job at doing this and he is thankful to be a part of it.

“I am very thankful and blessed to be here,” Chambers stated. “I have only been here for a year and I felt like I belonged ever since I got here. I’m thankful for this team that I’m on because it is such a special group of guys and such a dedicated and motivated group. It means a lot to represent my school and community because this is a special community that has supported this team a lot and we all have done our best to represent what Dale is.”

Chamber is a sophomore at Dale High School. He plays power forward and center for the Dale Pirates’ basketball team.

Throughout his life and athletic career, Trayden has had a number of people that have been influential in his life and helped shape him into the person that he is today.

“One of my biggest influences is my dad,” he said. “He has done so much for me and put so much time into me and has been a big part of getting me where I am today. The teacher that has made the biggest impact in my life was my fourth grade teacher Mrs. Smith because she taught me so many things in life and how treat others with kindness.”

Becoming a successful athlete is not something that just happens. Instead, it takes a lot of time and effort to reach your goals.

“It takes a lot of time in the gym every day,” Chambers said. “Also, working outside of my comfort zone and being able to have a different assortment of skills, and never giving up. What motivates me is making myself better every day and being able to make my teammates better.”
