BETHEL WILDCATS

Coach: JOEY GINN

5-6

OFFENSE

Entering the 2025 season, the Bethel Wildcats and head coach Joey Ginn have a few positions they need to fill after graduating a few starters from last season. Coach Ginn is confident in his players and the young talent they have stepping into larger roles this season. “Going into 2025 we will need to replace some offensive linemen with some young prospects. We are looking forward to 2025 with the return of most of our skill players returning. With the return of our starting quarterback and our top two rushers from 2024 our offense will work to be balanced,” said coach Ginn. Luke Quinter (6-1, 200, Sr.) returns at RB after rushing for 1,226 yards on 178 carries with 19 TDs last year. Quinter is joined in the backfield by Ezra Powls (5-10, 175, Sr.) who added 784 yards on 107 carries with nine TDs of his own. The one-two punch is one of the more effective run games in the class. Quarterback Maddox Davis (5-10, 160, Jr.) returns after throwing for 1,617 yards and 15 TDs, while rushing for 334 yards and three scores. Davis completed 107 of 189 passes last year. Davis took over the QB job as a freshman and has continued to develop into a solid QB for the Wildcats. One target Davis will look for in the passing game is Gavin Lynch (5-10, 160, Sr.) who made 22 receptions for 293 yards and two scores. Add tight end Jakeb Miller (6-1, 225, Sr.) who made 12 receptions for 95 yards and a score, and you have the start of another great passing game. Up front look for Wyatt McClintock (6-1, 250, Sr.) who started seven games last season.

DEFENSE

“Defensively we return two players with over 100 Tackles in 2024 and four linebackers who have starting experience in our 3-4 scheme,” said coach Ginn. Quinter will start at outside linebacker where he made 103 tackles with 10 tackles for loss, and seven sacks. Leighton Swegheimer (5-8, 160, Sr.) was a huge difference maker in the secondary, logging 117 tackles, six pass breakups and two interceptions. Powls will go both ways starting in the secondary where he made 30 tackles last season. Also look for Miller at linebacker. His production is crucial to the success on defense. Last season Miller made 91 tackles and recovered five fumbles. Gavin Shaw (5-9, 180, Sr.) joins Miller at linebacker where he made 65 tackles and four tackles for loss. Keegan Shaw (5-9, 150, Sr.) will play in the secondary giving the Wildcats another ballhawk in the backfield. Shaw accounted for one INT and one TD on defense last season. Also look for newcomer Ridge Cator (Fr.) who played QB/S last season and is expected to be the backup QB this season.
