2024-2025 Meeker Bulldogs Basketball – Presented by Gordon Cooper Technology Center

Coach: Randy Ragland

23-24 Record: 12-14

OUTLOOK

It’s a good day to be a Bulldog. Entering the 2024-25 season, head coach Randy Ragland said his team is ready to take on a tough schedule and see how far they can go this season.

“We have an older team this year that is hungry to get over the “regional hump.” We have gotten to Regional Saturday the previous two years and these guys have worked their tails off this offseason to set themselves up for a successful season. The culture has been great and I’m excited to see what this group can accomplish this season,” said Ragland.

Leading the way is Treyvon Compton (5-9, Sr.) at guard. Compton averaged 22 points a game with 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 3.0 steals. Compton entered the 1,000-point club last season and could finish this season with more than 2,000 points in his career. Aiden Hessman (6-3, Jr.) is another point scorer who can play guard or forward. After a great summer and a lot of work in the weight room, Hessman has developed a nice jumper and is playing great defense.

Manny Saavedra (6-1, Sr.) averaged 7.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 1.0 steal per game last year playing a combo spot at guard and forward. Saavedra and Bryce Bussell (5-11, Jr.) are two players that make things happen on both ends of the court. Bussell led the team in charges taken last year and does all the little things that help a team win.

Other players to watch include Asa Watham (5-11, Sr.) at guard, Tristan Bynum (5-9, Jr.) at guard, Matthew Grass-Moore (6-2, Sr.) at forward, Jace Bias (6-2, Jr.) in the post, Brodey Manning (5-11, Jr.) at guard, Brady Wahpepah (6-5, So.) at center, Jayvon Burns (5-9, So.) at guard, and Iziah Ashley (5-4, Jr.) at guard.

Burns has enjoyed a great summer and is considered one of the top defenders on the team. The bench is deep for Meeker, and several players will play key roles this season as the Bulldogs look to get over the regional hump and make a deeper run in postseason play.
