2024-2025 Dale Pirates Basketball – Presented by Gordon Cooper Technology Center

Coach: Jeff Edmonson

23-24 Record: 30-2

OUTLOOK

No one can deny the run the Dale Pirates have made winning the Class 2A state championship three years running. Call it the roaring ‘20s for the Pirates in multiple sports. Head coach Jeff Edmonson returns five of his top seven players this season.

“In addition to our experienced five starters, we have a deep bench. Despite playing a difficult schedule, our team record the past three years is 91-4. We finished our 2023-24 season ranked 54th in the nation. We have been invited back to the Tournament of Champions in Tulsa,” said Edmonson.

Scoring leader Trayden Chambers (6-6, Sr.) is back at forward where he averaged 9.2 points and 5.8 rebounds a game. Chambers doesn’t mind getting in the paint and banging with other big men. On the offensive end of the court, Chambers will look for the ball from one of the more underrated point guards in the state in Easton Edmonson (5-10, Sr.). Edmonson averaged 5.8 points and 5.2 assists per contest as a junior. Edmonson does everything to help his team win and has become an excellent three-point shooter.

Levi Kelly (5-11, Sr.) is another guard who can score points. Last season Kelly averaged 6.1 points while forward Jett Higdon (6-4, Sr.) averaged 6.5 points and 4.9 rebounds a year ago. Rounding out the top five is Denton Forsythe (6-1, Jr.), a guard who accounted for 8.7 points a game last season. Forsythe is a solid all-around player who shoots the three and is known for his defense.

Other players to watch include Keldan Meely (6-6, So.), Jaxon Womack (5-11, Sr.), and Maddox Caldwell (6-3, Sr.). Meely is a shot blocker who can shoot the three.
