OFFENSE

North Rock Creek returns to the field with a highly experienced offense, led by Caleb Hawkins (6-2, 205, Sr.). “Caleb can play multiple positions and is an extremely good athlete. He has great instincts and is a great playmaker for us,” head coach Jason Murray said. The Cougars will employ a multiple offense, using varying formations under the guidance of Murray. “We have some players with experience coming back on both sides of the ball. We know our district will be very challenging, but we are looking forward to getting started,” Murray added. The offense will be orchestrated by quarterback JJ McClain, who will have key targets in Caleb Hawkins and Brodie Grace. Running back Hawkins will also play a pivotal role in the offense. The offensive line is anchored by returning starters Blaine Robison and Austin Nickles.

DEFENSE 

The Cougars’ defense will operate from a 3-man front under defensive coordinator Todd Burch. The unit will focus on being physical, bringing pressure and adapting to different looks. “We base out of a 3-man front. We will be able to adjust to different looks and bring pressure,” Murray said. The defensive line features Blaine Robison, a hardworking player who does everything right. In the secondary, Hawkins and McClain will provide solid defense and create turnovers. “He [McClain] has a great combination of size and athleticism,” Murray said. “He does a lot of things for us. He plays outside linebacker, tight end, wide receiver and handles our punting duties.” The defensive line is bolstered by returning starters Brodie Grace and Austin Nickles, both of whom bring a great attitude and work ethic to the defense.
