Caleb Sparks 

Tecumseh High School

Tecumseh High School junior Caleb Sparks is eager to take the field this spring. Sparks has played baseball for as long as he can remember and he’s looking forward to helping the team win in any way possible. 

“I’ve played baseball since I was three years old. I’m a shortstop, catcher, and pitcher,” said Sparks. 

Like his teammates, Sparks has worked hard in preparation for the new season. 

“My most improved aspect of my game is my hitting and being able to make things happen at the plate. We are having our ups and downs here to start the season but when we have brought all of it together, we have looked amazing, and have played like a top team in our district,” said Sparks. 
 
 Sparks loves being a student-athlete at THS, and his leadership comes through on the field and in the classroom.

“The thing I love most about being a student-athlete is how the community comes together and supports all sports throughout the school.  I would say my strength is being a leader and setting an example for my teammates and for the upcoming players that will attend Tecumseh High School in the upcoming years,” said Sparks. 

Building chemistry is important for any team and Sparks said the team continues to grow and come together. 

“The thing I love most about my teammates is how we can all come together through thick and thin and still give it everything we have got,” said Sparks. 

The junior would like to continue his playing career in college and eventually earn a degree in kinesiology. Sparks is a member of FCA and said everyone should keep an eye on Lane Steward this season. 
 “He hits the ball at an elite level and makes plays in the field that I don’t know how he makes.” 

In his free time, Sparks said spending time with his family and preparing for life after high school.

“Spending time with my family and bettering myself towards my academic and athletic career while maintaining a strong relationship with my friends.”
