McLoud’s Creighton Conley – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Valentine Insurance

Creighton Conley, a freshman at McLoud High School, embodies versatility across basketball, track and soccer, making her an athletic force on multiple fronts.

“I have been blessed to play every position in basketball, but most would consider me a small or power forward,” Creighton explained, reflecting her adaptability on the court. In track, she excels in the 400-meter race and various relays, while in soccer, she ventures into new territory as a newcomer.

For Creighton, competition serves as her primary motivator, driving her to outwork her peers in every endeavor. She credits her family for instilling values of leadership and continuous improvement, especially her mom’s selfless support, her dad’s encouragement for greatness and her little brother’s inspiration.

Mrs. Ogle, a teacher and mentor, stands out as a staunch supporter, guiding Creighton not only academically but also spiritually and athletically.

Success in sports, Creighton believes, hinges on dedication to daily improvement, fostering winning habits that transcend the game.

Reflecting on the season, Creighton takes pride in her team’s resilience in overcoming off-court challenges through faith and unity.

As a McLoud Redskin, victory over rival Harrah holds special significance, fueling the team’s competitive spirit. In practice, Creighton finds valuable competition in the Mapira twins, who push her to excel on both ends of the court and in life.

Acknowledging the contributions of every team member, Creighton highlights coach Josh Ray’s dedication to basketball despite his non-basketball background, a testament to her commitment to player development.

Beyond sports, Creighton is actively involved in the National Junior Honor Society, reflecting her dedication to academic excellence.

Looking ahead, Creighton hopes to extend her basketball career while pursuing higher education, determined to make her mark both on and off the court.

Representing McLoud High School as a third-generation Redskin, Creighton embraces the legacy of her family and community, aspiring to be a source of pride for years to come.
