2023 Tecumseh Savages Boys Basketball Preview – Presented by Natalie Arnett State Farm

TECUMSEH SAVAGES

BOYS

Coach: Bryant Edwards

22-23 Record: 6-20

Last year, the Tecumseh boys knew it would be about building for the future with their young group of players. This year, the Savages are ready to make that jump as they return four starters from last year’s team and nine of their top 10 players overall. Head coach Bryan Edwards believes last season will help propel to Tecumseh to the playoffs. “We gained a ton of experience last season,” he said. “We are looking forward to having a successful regular season and making a deep playoff run.” This is a senior heavy squad with seven guys getting set for their final high school season. Leading the way for Tecumseh this year is guard Jase Edwards (6-3, Sr.). Edwards averaged 22.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game last year and will look to build on those numbers this year. Coach Edwards is excited to see what Jase can do in his senior season. “Jase will be a four-year starter this coming season,” he said. “He is a complete scorer and a match up problem on the offensive end of the floor. He can score in many different ways from the 3-point line to finishing at the rim. On the defensive end, he controls the defensive glass and stays in the passing lanes. With his size and athleticism, he’s a major factor on both ends of the floor.” While Jase Edwards will likely be the focal point of Tecumseh’s attack, he will need some help. Forwards Marquan Krush (6-3, Sr.) and Keegan Plumley (6-5, Sr.) will look to have strong senior campaigns after combining for 8.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per game. Guard Aveon Stokes (5-9, So.) will look to build on his impressive freshman campaign that saw him average 6.0 points and 1.0 rebound per game.
