OFFENSE

The McLoud Redskins are “a team that gained a ton of experience in 2022. Young but with tons of potential. The success of the team will come down to how fast they are able to mature and continue to raise the standard of McLoud football.” Head coach Coleman Ramsey is looking to lead the team to a winning season after going 5-5 last season. At wide receiver for the 2023 season will be Zaylun Matlock (5-8, 155, So.) and Kaiden Cue (5-7, 150, Sr.) who have a combined 62 catches, 886 yards and eight touchdowns from last season. Running back Cole Kennedy (5-9, 180, Sr.) accounts for 27 rushes for 158 yards and one touchdown from the 2022 season. Dominating at offensive line will be Camden Mendenhall (6-0, 260, Jr.) and Kaleb Smith (6-1, 315, Jr.).

DEFENSE

The Redskins have six defensive starters returning this season. With a base formation of “an attacking 3-4 that looks to blitz from every position at any time,” every member on defense will be vital to the defensive success of the team. At linebacker will be Cole Kennedy (5-9, 180, Sr.) and Weston Hughes (5-11, 195, Sr.)  who have a combined 122 tackles and two interceptions from last season. Dominating the backfield are Zaylun Matlock (5-8, 155, So.) who has four interceptions and Kaiden Cue (5-7, 150, Sr.). At defensive end will be Caleb Coleman (6-1, 215, Sr.). Assisting the head coach will be Assistant Coaches Aaron Rigsby, Michael Doutey, Trey Aubert, Tyler Martin, and Elijah Bloomer.
