Bethel’s Connor Anthony – FFA Spotlight – Presented by OK AgCredit

At the age of nine, Bethel High Schools Connor Anthony was involved in 4H until he entered
the eighth grade when he decided to join the FFA.
“I started in 4H showing livestock so as soon as my eighth-grade year came and I was able
to become a member. Both my parents showed livestock and it’s just something I grew up
around, so it just was a natural for me to be involved,” said Anthony.
From livestock judging to showing livestock, Anthony said he loves many things about FFA,
but the people make it a great experience.
“By far the people I have met and friendships I have gained is what I enjoy the most. I have
friends and people I consider family scattered across a bunch of different states,” said
Anthony. “I show sheep where I was blessed to win the Oklahoma Youth Expo this March
which is the world’s largest livestock junior show.”
Besides FFA, Anthony is a member of the varsity baseball team and is looking forward to
his senior season next year.
“We are one big family! They are all considered brothers to me. Our coach is a very
sentimental man who teaches character and being involved in the community. I love every
year we get to participate in a “league of their own” and play a fun baseball game with
special needs children. I will be a senior in 2024. I am still trying to decide if I want to play
college baseball or go on to livestock judge but regardless, I want to attend a Junior
College,” said Anthony.
The soon-to-be senior said anyone interested in FFA should give it a shot.
“I would highly encourage anyone to be involved as much as possible, the friends and
families you gain will last a lifetime but also there is so many different opportunities that
FFA provides that will help anyone be successful after high school,” said Anthony.
