Bethel Wildcats Girls Basketball Preview – Presented By RibCrib

Coach: Tara Satterfield
21-22 Record: 22-5

By all accounts, the Lady Wildcats had an outstanding season a year ago. They ended the season at the state tournament with a 22-5 record. But head coach Tara Satterfield knows that her squad did not reach their goal of winning the championship and she feels that they have a solid team to get back this season. “We are returning our top seven players from last season,” Satterfield said. “We are also adding in some freshmen to the mix. We are working to get back to the state tournament and compete.” Senior point guard Parker Stevenson (5-7, Sr.) is back to lead the Wildcats for her senior campaign. Last season,
she averaged 20.8 points per game and was instrumental in leading her team to the Class 3A state tournament. She has verbally committed to Oklahoma Baptist University to play basketball next year. Another player that will play a vital role in Bethel’s success will be Josie Megehee (5-10, So.) averaged 18.9
points per game as a freshman and she can score from anywhere on the floor. She received her first scholarship offer this summer. Another leader for the team is Hannah Davidson (5-9, Sr.). She leads by example as well as her voice. She does not get rattled and she keeps everyone else calm and focused. She
knocked down some big shots last year and is not afraid of the big moment. A force on the defensive end of the court will be Brooklyn Duff (5-8, Jr.). She took twenty-five charges last season, and she is a hardworking and mentally tough athlete. Lilly Megehee (5-6, Sr.), Baylee Tapley (5-8, So.), Bella Thomas (5-7, Sr.), and Ava Gascon (5-5, Fr.) are three players that will see playing time and will look to make an impact when they are on the court. Other players to keep an eye on are Alexis Tucker (5-10, Fr.), Cadence Treece (5-10, Sr.), Layla Menhusen (5-10, Fr.), Brylan Webb (5-11, So.), Kendall Bullen (5-6, So.), and Paityn Seiger (5-5, So.). Assistant coaches this season are Andrea Depuy and Taylor Opskar.
